Shiga Kogen has a broad hot spring-dotted terrain, offering fine cross-country and slalom skiing, with some downhill runs through wooded fields. Ski lifts and a 130-foot take-off are provided near the Hotel Shiga Heights.

“Shiga Kogen was famous as an onsen (hot spring) destination before skiing became popular, and is still home to over seven natural hot spring sources that provide hot bath waters to the hotels located in the area.”
